About MunicipalReady

MunicipalReady is built for local government. And built around a real working relationship.

MunicipalReady is a specialized division of Windstorm Marketing, led by Dean Rose, helping local governments build and maintain modern municipal websites with a practical, communication-first approach.

We look at municipal websites as public communication tools first — helping residents find information, complete tasks and understand what their local government is doing — while making the website easier for staff to manage behind the scenes.

Meet Dean

Building websites since 1991. They've gotten a little better since then.

Dean Rose built his first website in 1991 — a very early, very simple online presence for an office supply store that he describes today as little more than a glorified Yellow Pages ad.

From early web-authoring software to Dreamweaver, WordPress and today's modern website tools, the technology has changed dramatically. Dean's approach to websites has remained much more consistent: start with the person using the website and make the information easy to find, understand and act on.

The Approach

A marketing approach to websites. Not an IT approach.

Technology matters, but it is not the reason the website exists. The website exists to communicate — to help people find information, understand services, complete tasks and know what to do next.

MunicipalReady brings that communication-first philosophy to local government. The goal is to understand how the municipality actually works, what residents need from the website and how the digital experience can make life easier for both the public and staff.

Modern municipal websites, accessibility and ongoing support

Why MunicipalReady

Local governments deserve more than a template or a giant platform.

Smaller and midsize municipalities often get pushed toward one of two extremes: a low-cost website with limited support, or a large enterprise system that can be expensive, complex and impersonal.

MunicipalReady was created to offer a more practical middle ground — specialized municipal website experience, accessibility guidance, ongoing support and a real working relationship.

01

More Than a Template

Your municipality should not have to fit someone else's website.

MunicipalReady builds around the way your municipality actually communicates, publishes information and serves residents instead of forcing everything into a generic layout.

02

Less Enterprise Overhead

Powerful enough to do the job. Practical enough to manage.

You do not need a massive software ecosystem to run a useful municipal website. We focus on the tools and support your staff actually needs.

03

Personal Support

Work with people who know your website.

When something changes, you are not starting over with someone new. MunicipalReady is designed around an ongoing working relationship with your municipality.

The Difference

Specialized, personal and practical.

01
Municipal Focus

Websites, documents, forms, meetings and public information are treated as part of one connected digital experience.

02
Accessibility Built Into the Conversation

Accessibility is considered during design, content planning, document workflows and ongoing website management.

03
Real Human Support

Municipal staff have someone familiar with their website and operation when questions or updates come up.

04
Built for the Long Term

The goal is not simply to launch a website. It is to help keep the site useful, current and manageable over time.

The MunicipalReady Position

Experienced enough to solve the problem. Small enough to care how it gets solved.

MunicipalReady is built for local governments that want experienced help without unnecessary complexity — a website partner that understands the work, communicates clearly and stays involved after launch.

Built for Local Government

Municipal websites have different demands than ordinary business websites.

A local government website has to serve residents, staff, elected officials, boards, commissions, applicants, taxpayers and visitors — often with a very small internal team managing it.

MunicipalReady is built around that reality. The goal is not simply to launch a good-looking website. It is to create a practical digital system that supports public information, accessibility, recurring documents, forms and everyday updates.

01

Public Information

Residents need to find meeting information, notices, ordinances, departments, services and public records without digging through the site.

02

Accessibility

Websites, documents and online forms need to be designed, reviewed and maintained with digital accessibility in mind.

03

Recurring Content

Agendas, minutes, meeting packets, notices and other materials are published again and again throughout the year.

04

Staff Usability

A website should make routine updates easier for municipal staff rather than creating another complicated system to manage.

The MunicipalReady Approach

Start with the municipality. Then build the website around the work.

Every local government operates a little differently. MunicipalReady starts by understanding how information is created, who maintains it, what residents need most and where the current process creates unnecessary work.

How We Work

A practical process. Built around the way your municipality actually works.

MunicipalReady does not start with a template, a software package or a list of features. We start by understanding how your municipality communicates, publishes information and serves residents.

From there, we build a website and support process that fits your staff, your public information needs and the way content actually moves through your organization.

01

Understand

Learn how the municipality works now.

We look at the current website, common resident questions, recurring documents, forms, staff responsibilities and the places where the existing process creates unnecessary work.

02

Organize

Make the information easier to find and maintain.

Navigation, page structure, public records, meeting information and online services are organized around what residents need and what staff can realistically maintain.

03

Build

Create the site with accessibility in mind.

The website is designed and developed with usability, accessibility, responsive behavior and clear communication considered from the beginning.

04

Support

Stay involved after launch.

MunicipalReady can continue helping with website updates, accessibility questions, forms, recurring content and the everyday changes that keep a municipal website useful.

Communication First

The website is not the project. The public experience is.

A successful municipal website is not measured by how many features it has. It should help residents find the right information, complete common tasks and understand what their local government is doing.

At the same time, staff should have a practical way to keep information current without becoming website specialists.

The Working Relationship

Clear communication on the front end. Real support behind the scenes.

MunicipalReady is meant to feel like an extension of your team — someone who understands the website, understands the goals and can help when something needs to be changed, improved or figured out.

Experience Behind MunicipalReady

Decades of website experience. Shaped by real municipal work.

MunicipalReady brings together decades of website development, marketing and digital communication experience with hands-on work inside local government.

That combination helped shape a practical approach: understand how the municipality works, improve the public experience, reduce unnecessary staff friction and build systems that can keep working long after launch.

Real-World Municipal Work

Helena Township became the proving ground.

MunicipalReady grew from years of website, marketing and digital communication work, then took shape through hands-on work with Helena Township in Northern Michigan. That experience brought together many of the municipal needs MunicipalReady now addresses through one focused service.

01
Website Rebuilding

Organizing municipal information into a clearer, more usable website structure for residents and staff.

02
Accessibility

Applying accessibility considerations to website content, documents, forms and public-facing information.

03
Meeting Materials & Public Records

Publishing agendas, meeting packets, minutes, rules, notices and other recurring municipal information.

04
Online Forms

Moving practical municipal processes online with clearer forms, instructions and resident workflows.

05
Ongoing Website Support

Handling the everyday changes, updates and questions that continue long after a website launches.

What That Work Reinforced

Municipal websites are ongoing working systems.

01

The Website Changes Constantly

Meetings, elections, forms, ordinances, public notices and staff information continue changing throughout the year.

02

Accessibility Is Ongoing

New content can introduce new barriers, which is why accessibility has to remain part of the publishing process.

03

Staff Need Practical Help

Municipal employees should not have to become web developers or accessibility specialists to keep information current.

04

A Real Relationship Matters

It is easier to solve problems when the person helping already understands the website and the municipality.

Built to Scale

Proven principles. A model that can work anywhere.

MunicipalReady is beginning in Michigan, but the needs it addresses are not unique to one township or one state. Clear communication, accessible digital services, manageable workflows and dependable support matter to local governments everywhere.
